Maintaining and servicing dental equipment can be expensive and time consuming. It doesn’t have to be. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1992 states that equipment must be serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations.

To service an autoclave in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines which includes both repair and preventative maintenance and the replacement of components which, in the opinion of the Engineer are worn or defective.

The majority of manufacturers recommend a service every 12 months, however some practices have them as often as once a quarter.
